This is the Austin Area Rare Bird Alert. This update is as of 5/14/2015.
Send interesting sightings, complete with species name, location, and

-Rarities found this week-

Four WHIMBRELS were photographed at Windy Point on Lake Travis, *Travis*,
5/11 and eleven WHIMBRELS were seen near Thrall, *Williamson*, 5/8.

An estimate of 100 BOBOLINKS were photographed in *Bastrop County*, 5/14
and a single bird was photographed near Thrall, *Williamson, *5/9.

A deceased BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO was found at a private residence in
Pflugerville, *Travis*, 5/8.

A MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER was seen at Lake Creek Trail, *Williamson*, 5/8.

A WOOD THRUSH was seen at the Texas Capitol Grounds, *Travis*, 5/9.

GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLERS were reported from a private residence in west
Austin (photographed), *Travis*, 5/10 and a private residence near Utley,
*Bastrop*, 5/11.

A CASPIAN TERN was photographed at Windy Point on Lake Travis*, Travis*,
5/12.

A HERRING GULL and two RING-BILLED GULLS were late at Windy Point on Lake
Travis*, Travis*, 5/12.

A LEAST TERN was photographed at Barkley Meadows, *Travis*, 5/12.

A SNOWY PLOVER was photographed at Hornsby Bend, *Travis*, 5/10.

A singing adult male AMERICAN GOLDFINCH was late at Bastrop SP, *Bastrop*,
5/13.

A WORM-EATING WARBLER was described at Plum Creek Bridge, *Caldwell*, 5/7.

A SCARLET TANAGER was reported from a private residence near Shoal Creek in
Austin, *Travis*, 5/10.

A HUTTON'S VIREO was seen at Warbler Woods, *Guadalupe*, 5/10.

-Continuing birds from previous weeks-

Two BROWN-CRESTED FLYCATCHERS continued near Harmon Rd., *Bastrop*, 5/13.

Two RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS continued near Harmon Rd, *Bastrop*, 5/13.

At least one, and maybe two YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERS continued at Commons
Ford, *Travis*, 5/9.

Reports for the Austin area RBA cover a 60 mile radius, centered on the
Capitol in downtown Austin. Bird sightings mentioned here have been
filtered and scrutinized by the compiler and are believed to be genuine.
When documentation or photographs were provided, that is mentioned along
with the other information about the bird(s) being seen. For questions or
