This is the Austin Area Rare Bird Alert. This update is as of 416/2015.
Send interesting sightings, complete with species name, location, and
contact information to Nate McGowan at natemcgowanbirds@xxxxxxxxx.

-Exceptional birds in the circle-

A STRIPED SPARROW was photographed and audio recorded at CR 428 east of CR
361, *Williamson*, 1/11. The most recent positive report is from 4/7. This
is a potential first ABA record, although provenance has been questioned.

-Rarities found this week-

A HAIRY WOODPECKER was photographed on Waller Creek Trail in Austin,
*Travis*, 4/14.

A RINGED KINGFISHER was a great find at Memorial Park in Round Rock,
*Williamson,
4/11*.

A WOOD THRUSH was seen and heard at Circle Acres in Austin, *Travis*, 4/14
and 4/15.

A COUCH'S KINGBIRD was found at Round Rock West Park, *Williamson*, 4/13.

A LE CONTE'S SPARROW was late at Commons Ford, *Travis*, 4/12.

Two PYRRHULOXIAS were reported from Roy Guerrero Park, *Travis*, 4/12.

-Continuing birds from previous weeks-

A GREAT KISKADEE continued at Berry Springs Park in Georgetown, *Williamson*,
4/10.

A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER continued at Alum Creek near Bastrop SP, *Bastrop*,
4/13.

A HUTTON'S VIREO continued at St. Edward's Park, *Travis*, 4/9.

At least one, and maybe two YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERS continued at Commons
Ford, *Travis*, 4/16.

Reports for the Austin area RBA cover a 60 mile radius, centered on the
Capitol in downtown Austin. Bird sightings mentioned here have been
filtered and scrutinized by the compiler and are believed to be genuine.
When documentation or photographs were provided, that is mentioned along
with the other information about the bird(s) being seen. For questions or
