A friend of mine has a 35" Hitachi that needs a new tube. I phoned my
rebuilder and he was able to order a brand new original Hitachi tube for
$595 Canadian. My friend can do it himself, so for him it was worth it.
He likes the set and it is only 10 years old. By the way, the tube was
70% below Hitachi's list price. Someone else's loss is another one's
gain.

They do...Jeff.
But a dying breed. The last CRT rebuilder we have (Hi-Vac) is barely
holding
on.
Even Monitor and R/P are on the way out.
Just talked to Roy last week, at Hi-Vac...Direct View are a thing of the
past. And pricing of new TV's do not make it economical to change CRT's
anymore.
