I haven't worked in manufacturing for quite some time now so I don't 
know all the answers but a batch sample may be 10%, 2% or some other % 
and then a small % of of the sample can fail and still be an acceptable 
batch. A larger % of failures and it's a bad batch. Return to the parts 
supplier and out the back door at reduced price to brokers then right 
back into the supply chain as generics. I saw an earlier post on this 
Quasar where the problem was a bad NEW capacitor instead of the LA7838, 
so what ya gonna do, buy all yer caps from Matsushita? Not likely, but 
you probably would not see many bad ones if you did.
