Been getting mine for a few years now, and I've never had to return any yet. I doubt if I ever will. This year was the first year in my whole life that I actually had a negative number at the bottom of the form. When they asked at the VA what my income was last year when requalifying me for eligibility, I said minus $2500. She said: "well we can't put that down", so she put down +$11,000 which was my SS payments.
