My bad check replies have been bouncing.
I'll redeposit some of them here.

I tried cashing questionable checks so I had the cash in hand.
Doesn't work, that's why banks won't cash a check unless you have an account
with them, so they can get it from your account in case it doesn't clear.
I even had a check I wrote once, bounce for insufficient funds because the
bank had put a hold on that checking account, while waiting for a check I
deposited in a different account, to clear. -----------THE BANK NEVER

We had a deadbeat here who used a couple different names, everyone knew him.
When I started my own shop, he began calling me instead of the guy I used to
work for. Most of em did.
When his daughter was about 17, she got her own place. She called me to hook
things up and get everything working and finished the call with: "I'm not
like my father, you know. I'll pay you".
How's that song go? The sins of the father, fall on the daughter.
I really felt bad for her for feeling she needed to say that.
That was probably 20 years ago. He died quite a while back, and I have no
idea where she is now.

I had one that was "non sufficient funds" so I kept calling the bank to see
if there was money to cover it. One day they told me there was, so I drove
over to the town where they were, to cash it. When I got there they refused
to cash it because I didn't have an account with them. Talk about pi**ed. I
had to get out of there quick, before I did something I would regret.
