As an alternative view...
We were recently 'relocated' and not having the money to move BT left
the TC12 and Alpha where they are!
We are communicating directly from our desks over an internal fibre
optic (via an internal fire wall which requires fixed IP addresses)
using 'X-vision'=20
We are also running fault reports directly into (and filtered by)
PREFECT using the same fibre optic

We relocated thirteen miles almost four years ago. (Ewell to
Leatherhead) It has to be said that the whole event was a complete
success, with both Siemens and BT coming up trumps.
What is required tho' is to get them on board at the earliest
opportunity and keep them on board all the way through.
Do not assume you can simply issue an order to them to do the work - you
must ask them how best it can be done.
( I hope your move is at least nine - twelve months away however)
