Many years ago when I worked in Newcastle, we installed a signalised =
pedestrian crossing (no flashing green man/ amber), with a short road green o=
=66=
 5 seconds, and quite a long green man time of 15 seconds. It seemed to do th=
e=
 job reasonably well.
