The use of flashing ambers is defined by reg 58 (6) of TSRGD Dick -----Original Message----- From: Peter Hodge [mailto:Peter.Hodge@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 30 August 2005 12:01 To: tcug@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [TCUG] Re: Interactive Speed & Queue Signs Dave, We have 60 signs here in East Sussex. Where warning triangles are displayed we have not used flashing amber roundels. I believe DFT/TSRGD do not permit the use of flashing ambers with warning signs, they can only be used with speed limit signs.=20 Also, assuming it is a controlled crossing the flashing ambers may confuse drivers approaching.=20 We have tried White and Amber text and settled for the standard amber. The triangle will be RED, the symbol will be WHITE and the text currently proposed will be AMBER with 4 flashing amber roundels in the corners. I understand that you can also have the text as white (slightly more expensive). Amber does convey a sense of warning although white may look better. Does anyone have a preference to the colour of the text or operational experience of the best colour. =20 Thanks =20 Dave =20 Contact: =20 David Kinnaird Principal Engineer Telematics Cardiff Council Tel 02920 873321 Fax 02920 873328 =20 ********************************************************************** Privileged/Confidential Information may be contained in this message.
