Dave,

We have 60 signs here in East Sussex. Where warning triangles are
displayed we have not used flashing amber roundels. I believe DFT/TSRGD
do not permit the use of flashing ambers with warning signs, they can
only be used with speed limit signs.=20

Also, assuming it is a controlled crossing the flashing ambers may
confuse drivers approaching.=20

We have tried White and Amber text and settled for the standard amber.

I am installing an interactive sign with a dual face to indicate queues
and a crossing . The triangle will be RED, the symbol will be WHITE and
the text currently proposed will be AMBER with 4 flashing amber roundels
in the corners. I understand that you can also have the text as white
(slightly more expensive). Amber does convey a sense of warning although
white may look better. Does anyone have a preference to the colour of
the text or operational experience of the best colour.
