I agree with Bruce - try to design ped facilities 'in parallel', try not to go further down the 'inefficient design' road. You would clearly require at least 1.4x the overall time currently given to peds on conventional crossings (to allow for the diagonal - more once the corner radii are accounted for) - which will potentially create more congestion and/or require the cycle time to be increased.Such designs could potentially assist authorities in failing two 'LTP2' indicators in future years (one on congestion & one on high ped delay?)!
