Only problem is that no one can see where they are to avoid damage, which
can be a real pain, even to the point where the stats may claim they could
not avoid and land you with the repair bill.

Subject: [TCUG] Cutting detector loops

*** Before reading or acting on this e-mail, or opening any attachment,

the end of this e-mail ***

One of our contractors wants to cut detector loops into the basecourse
before final surfacing. The depth of the cut would be adjusted accordingly
so the loops would end up at the usual depth from the surface.

Does anyone have any thoughts on why we shouldn't do this?
