BTW- I paid about 148 for this rebuilt 30/31. Can't wait to run it, but it'll
be a few weeks before I get around to doing my pre camping season maintenance
routine on the bus.

With stock solex you can find a rebuild kit on the road pretty much anywhere.
Not sure about weber.

Great input, thanks.

Sounds like Brosol is on the outside looking in.

So it is down to a rebuilt Solex or maybe a Weber? Since I don't plan to run
dual carbs should I consider the Weber or should I go with the Solex. I am
hoping a new carb will solve some issues.

If I was looking to save money I wouldn't have purchased a 40 year old bus. I
do not mind paying more for quality and I will if the product warrants. I do
not base my sole decision on the most expensive option is the best. Therefore
I appreciate all of your comments.

As the old saying goes "you get what you pay for" I always say "buy quality,
buy once" but I haven't run a stock carb on anything in a number of years.

I have heard the same thing about the Brosol ones.
I had one several years ago and it was a piece of crap also.
Ended up taking the dang thing off and going with dual Webers...
