Most likely you are right on the first two options. I have been doing a lot of walking with Sherman and I have actually had drivers gun it on right on red while the pedestrian walk sign and audible signal is on. The city could make a mint if they set up a camera at Killearn center and village square.

I'm curious what local blind pedestrians think: is this number of pedestrian-related accidents just what's normal? Or is it high because law enforcement aren't doing their job in prosecuting and publicizing it, when a pedestrian is hurt? Or are they doing their job well enough, and we've just got a lot of bad, distracted, drivers out there? Possibly made worse by allowing things like rights on red? I was afraid right after I got struck by acarthat I'd feel this way but ... I, for one REFUSE to stop walking outside. I REFUSE to always be accompanied by another person be they sighted or blind. I REFUSE tobecontrolled by automobiles, inconsiderate and uneducated drivers, ormyfear. While I totally understand and respect your point of view, I donotshare it at all. I hope there are others out there who feel as I do. Without us persistent, possibly crazy blind pedestrians, some of whom don't have any other choice, driving etiquette might possiblydisappearall together. Be aware and take care but don't forego your freedom to walk.
