This message was sent from: Sun Community Forum. <http://www.gekkou.co.uk/forum/read.php?f=1&i=2689&t=2314> ---------------------------------------------------------------- Sounds like you are getting close ... after doing the patching and adding the DDK think you may need to either do a reconfig reboot or cause solaris to recheck update /dev stuff (sorry forgetting command right now) ... slowest way is to do an "init 0" then at ok prompt "boot -r". If you formatted drive under windows/dos then you need to use format command (or perhaps gui equivalent) and partition the drive then write out the label. After that has been done you should be able to use newfs command to create a solaris partition then mount that partition. After updating to the ddk I did have some success using usb 2 external hard drives that just wouldn't work at all prior to that. Sounds like you are using firewire connection instead of usb right?
