Censorship does not imply either truth or lies. Just because the government
does not censor the media does not mean the media tells the truth.
The truth is that in America the same people who control the government control
the media so they don't need to censor it. 6 corporations own 96% of all the
newspapers, magazine, radio stations and TV stations. In the U.S. it is not a
case of the government owning the media but the media owning the government.
In order to prevent this it used to be the law that newspapers, and radio and
TV stations had to be independently owned, but like so many laws that used to
protect the American public these laws were repealed under Bill Clinton.
