I would like to make a correction to that Flue. I am no longer 2-3 more battles away from my epic.....I have it. During the battles in the Hole I was talking to Cannis and he said he had a friend named Sevian/Andalyn (Andalyn is a druid) who had the stone I needed from VSR in KC, and was willing to MQ it for me. After things died down from the Hole Cannis, running Andalyn, and myself went to do the turn in the hammer from the Hole and the stone from KC. While we were doing those turn-ins, I was talking to Sevian and he also offered me the swirling sphere of color that drops in Plane of Air; which means I had everything I needed to complete the quest. So Cannis (Andalyn) and I went and did the other turn-ins and got my Swiftwind. I wish I could have shared the experience with other SMEE'ers, but Cannis and Sevian were great company and I couldn't believe they were doing this for me. It was very nerve racking making sure I did the turn ins correctly and they were cheering me on, every step of the way. I also have the Refined Mithril Blade and need to do the raid in Plane of Hate to get my Earthcaller, but am in no hurry. One Happy Ranger Here! (So when are we pushing for > the General to get our lil rogue epiced?) Well, a smaller-than-normal SMEE... consisting of myself, Rhysel, and Gildarr. So we put together a motley crew of a few more FA types to help with the luggald flesh quest, and went to Tox for the hail. Sure enough the corrupted fleshfiend spawned, and we discovered three things: 1) The Corrupted Fleshfiend is one fricken HUGE skeleton 2) It also hits for 435+ 3) Rangers are not very effective tanks in that situation and only bolstered by a 48 Cleric. In the ensuing confusion, I discovered a few more things: 4) Bards are not very effective tanks in that situation either 5) Fading Memories isn't very effective when the mobs can see invis, and 6) The Corrupted Fleshfiend summons ...so not a very auspicious beginning to the day, particularly after one more discovery, 7) The Erudin guards don't look kindly on dark elf clerics trying to rez corpses of not-a-tank rangers and not-a-tank bards, 2 each. Ah well. However, with the addition of one more fellow (an FA 64 beastlord) we finished off the fleshfiend not once, not twice, but three times, so Rhysel now has Heartspike (and I might add that it looks EXACTLY like a plank with a bunch of nails hammered through it), but two FAers doing the same quest have their final turn-ins as well (although they still need to do the quest leading up to that point). After that, a fiesta of FAers (out of 12 folks, I think I was the only one not in FA... Farnith doesn't count, since his wiz is guilded!) started moving toward the Hole. After realizing that the FA SK (Faucetta) had done this before, I basically let her run the show, which was less fun but still interesting, and we did the Jaeil the Wretched turn-in for Gildarr and another FA ranger and then headed up to the undead castle for High Scale Kirn, an FA shaman. So now we've seen that, and I think a full SMEE could make it to Jaeil no problem for Aidiian and Belador. Getting past the graveyard to Kirn is somewhat more tricky, but may still be doable. Gild is now down to about 2-3 more battles, and Rhys theoretically only has Renux and V'ghera. Not sure about this coming weekend--we'll have something approximating full smee, but on the other hand I may have to leave early as I may have a flight that evening to Madison, WI for the American Association of Physics Teachers conference, so not sure when I have to break. We'll see. -->VPutz
