Hi Chris - think the last of the four queens I've tried introducing may have
made it as I saw a few larvae yesterday - could of course be laying workers -
but in any event they are not nice to be around at present. Temprament may
have changed by the 18th of course, but I don't want to count on it. If things
have changed by then and no one else has offered to take the slot I could
always offer it again.

Sounds like a challenge to me. Why not make it a "how to requeen a gnarly hive"
open apiary? Turn it into something positive.
