[SI-LIST] FSM Problem

i  am stuck in Chapter 7 of Digital Design Principles of John Wakerly.
he was giving design principles using JK Flip flops and was minimizing 
transition equations using K-maps.but he didnt explain how he got 
transition/state equations solved using 1's along with dont cares where there 
should have been dont cares only. 
plz bail me out
