Hello, Gary,

One thing to keep in mind is that each tool is designed to work with a
specific set of schematic and/or layout tools in a design flow.

For example, HyperLynx supports about 15 or so layout tool formats; on the
other hand, its schematic-level (pre-layout) is interactive, with no support
for external schematics.

The next thing is to consider whether you need advanced features, such as
eye pattern displays and PRBS bit patterns. When you get to advanced
features, the user interface and support can vary widely between tools.

Happy tooling up!

Subject: [SI-LIST] Difference between Protel, Mentor Graphics and Cadence

Hi Guru,
I'm currently evaluating PCB tools package between Protel, Mentor Graphics
and Cadence.

Could anybody let me know the difference between Protel, Mentor Graphics and
Cadence since there is a price difference among them.

Thanks and Regards
Gary Tay
