And yet...... when t he judging pool drops due to these fees and t he
difficulty in the AVERAGE PERSON get ting additional breeds t he all rounders
who currently charge 2K can charge 3 or 4 when clubs have fewer
choices....... and with multiple shows on any given weekend it will happen -
supply and demand......... dog shows and AKC are dying at it is not even t he
'enemy' doing it. We need to look a lot closer.......

That's all valid Suzanne, and maybe Lee's and Cathy M.'s experience is the
same, but it's not unusual for all breed judges and performance judges to see
checks close to $2K for a 2 day cluster. I'm absolutely all for everyone
making money but by the same token I'm not going to fret if they are paying a
fee to renew their license.
Now, if a specialists has to pay a $50 fee and the clubs hiring them can't
afford to cover it then maybe those clubs have to revisit if it's worth having
a stand alone show...if they are cutting it that close, I'm thinking "no" and
perhaps they would be better off supporting an ab show.Â

how to judge their breed and grief from AKC. We are expected to search for

offers only the Judge's Institute at a substancial cost. All other education
comes from the individual breed clubs. Other event judges, Herding for
example, are allowed to take money to train and trial other people's dogs but

the ring is influenced when they see me with a dog...... Obedience and Rally
judges are rarely accused of 'misconduct' in the ring. Have you read the
conformation judge's guidelines lately?? Breed judges are just assumed to be
crooked and AKC does everything but call us criminals. No advertising, don't
tell people you are a judge, don't put it on a business card or in an ad, and
absolutely no soliciting. Â
I pay fees for stuff all the time but if you are going to charge me a fee, tell
me what I get for it!!!!!!! Anda don't day for the "priveledge" of
judging........... try to do better than that.........

That is all fine and well but what other individual that has to pay a license
fee that is not allowed to solicit business or advertise their services?Â
Judges cannot do this!!!!!!!!!!!
