If I read this correctly, you are saying that anyone living more than 100 miles of a regional club does not deserve to belong to a club. It seems that if one lives in the hills of TN, (as I do) they have no right to compete, brag and recieve recognition from the National Club's challenges. Back in the very late 70's, I was a member of the GSDC of Nashillve. It folded, early 80's I think. (BTW - that was over 100 miles away) In the mid/late 80's, I joined the GSDC of Atlanta (as an Associate member) - obviously had NO club challenge as a reason to join or for them to accept my membership. I also was joining the Knoxville (~120 miles)club when it folded. I first joined the GSDCA in the mid 70's but let my membership lapse for a couple of years when I rejoined in 1981 & have been a continuous member since then. Is there some reason why my breeding/exhibiting efforts, are less worthy of being recognized than yours, because of where I live??? I am now, again, an Associate Member of a wonderful regional club, with many of my very best "doggy" friends as members. They support me and all of my efforts, just as I try to support my club and it's efforts. There is something wrong with that??? No, I can't make most of the meetings (4 1/2 hour drive each way), but I do my best to help the club & it's members, especially financially. The other members have been a wonderful, enjoyable part of my GSD experiences. It is great to have their support & friendships. I just do not see why this should not be so..............
