That is quite true Jack. We see it more and more in specialty AND all breed
rings. I often wonder if the judges that put up missing teeth are in fact
really LOOKING at the teeth or just doing a cursory glance? A talented
handler can hide a missing tooth, and we are beginning to hear owners of these
dogs
act like "Hey only a missing tooth or two, so what??" Really makes you
scratch your head. I would never want to get into it, or get into lines that
are dominant for it. It seems to be pretty difficult to get rid of, once you
have it. It may not be the worst problem plaguing the breed, but it does
need to be addressed, and dogs placed or not, accordingly.
