I prefer Rink's "student of the breed" to me a newbie is someone who
doesn't know what the standard says, and has yet to understand the
history, changes, the game (both working and conformation) and has not
yet studied the breed at many, many venues. I also think a newbie is
someone who has not yet found a good mentor--which everyone
