That statement sent shivers through me, literally made me shiver. And made me
incredibly sad. And then disappointed.
Over the years there are many many many breeders that have thought as carefully
as you ( generic you ) as to their breeding program. Temperament is KEY when
breeding any breed and reputable and responsible breeders of "pit bulls" strive
for it. A well bred "pit bull" can be just as safe around children/adults and
other animals as a well bred GSD or any other well bred breed.
The GSD ( as well as other breeds ) are also being used for drug houses etc
etc. Those scum breed nasty temperament to nasty temperament to get that nasty
dog. It is not limited to the "pit bull".
My personal experiences with the breed have been nothing but positive. I have
fostered many and will continue to foster them. Just like the human animal,
some are sweethearts and some are damaged goods. The damaged goods ones, just
like humans, are pessimistic.....but they can be taught that life truly is a
treasure chest of fun and love.
And no, I don't wear rose colored glasses, I realize there are some that are
far beyond help and the kindest thing is to release them from the mind pain
they are in. The owners of those dogs are the ones that deserve the statement "
As far as I am concerned there is no place on earth for them."
Instead of trashing the breed, why not look for solutions?

my grandchildren come to play I am very careful with my dogs. They do not
know children and the noise and activity of 4 under 6 is unreal. If one of
my dogs hurt a child they would be gone. My grandchildren only play with
the ones that grew up with them none of the older generation. (and when I
can't stand the noise anylonger I go to the Kennel with my ol people too)
The first few years I groomed I tried a couple of pits and chows and then
decided they were not allow in my grooming shop. You never know what may
trigger them and they are much too strong for me to handle.
