Meant as a joke I am sure but this is not far from the method for assembling masks for making photo-mechanical half-tone plates in the old days where the emulsion was stripped from the camera plates (had to be done to reverse it) and could be cut up and assembled on the metal. Also the term cut-and-paste comes from the technique of assembling the original (positive) art work for the camera, especially for photo-offset lithographic plates.
