I found the thread in part, a long thread really, I
copied as sample a message (long) where you can read
first my answer to Todd and below Todd's message, both
with useful info about Rolleikin:

"Thanks Todd for your complete info about these
technical topics about the Rolleikin counter knob,
despite I had been educated about it previously
reading old messages that you wrote to the list,
however it's good to have together the explanations
for different models.
I'd like add that also the Tele Rolleiflex till #
2,350,000 (the Tele from # 2,350,001 is different)
had the Rolleikin counter knob from factory, and the
Rolleiflex 3.5 from # 1,100,000 can use the Rolleikin
2 model(with unpainted counter knob for the case).
Since I have the 2.8C with the Rolleikin counter knob
from factory, I can certify that it was painted black
and that it can not be pulled out when the back is
closed like you wrote -really I never payed attention
to these details, but they are very important if you
need to select a Rolleikin counter knob- then I assume
that my 2.8C Rolleikin counter knob couldn't be used
for a Rolleiflex without the small channel cut into
the camera body to accommodate the counter knob
lever.
Really interesting Todd.-

All the best
Carlos
