I always wrote (and F&H too) that the square format was made to be cropped if necessary, sometimes your composition is right for the square -BTW nice picture format- and sometimes not. I have seen several Sidibé (from Mali) square photographs, others close to square and other with rectangular cropping, all taken with his Rolleiflex and I could write similar from other Rollei TLR photographers.
