This is one way, there may be a shorter method. 1. Navigate to the icon that you want to place on your Start Menu. 2. Press the Applications key and Down Arrow to Copy and press Enter. 3. From the Desktop, press Windows+R and type "Start Menu" into the Run dialog without the quotes. 4. A folder will open, so press Control+V to paste the clipboard contents into that folder. The program should now be listed on your Start Menu. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kimberly Morrow, PhD" <morrowmediakc@xxxxxxxxx> To: <real-eyes@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, December 14, 2006 8:38 PM Subject: [real-eyes] how to place icons on my start menu? Question: I just got a new laptop, and wonder how I can go about putting various icons, such as Outlook, on my start menu, so that when I hit the windows key and hit down arrow, that particular icon comes up/is listed. What is the best way to place these icons on start up? Kimberly You mean this laptop has no place for 3 and a half inch floppies????? :-) To subscribe or to leave the list, or to set other subscription options, go to www.freelists.org/list/real-eyes To subscribe or to leave the list, or to set other subscription options, go to www.freelists.org/list/real-eyes
