It should be enabled by default.
1. You can check by pressing windows R to bring up the run box.
2. Then type msconfig and press enter.
3. Now control tab 4 times to services.
4. On the list of services press the letter F until you hear faxman and see
if it's checked or not.
If it's not, check it with the space bar, press enter on okay, then restart
when requested and test Openbook.

There is a service called faxman in the services tab of msconfig that must
be enabled for Openbook to work. That's one of many possibilities.

Hi, everyone,
I was just trying to scan an envelope but when I hit enter on openbook, it
wouldn’t read. What happened was when the guy from adaptive voice
installed C-desk for me, he changed the resolution or something on the
screen since it’s a flat screen. Could that have something to do with why
openbook isn’t working for me now? I no longer have C-desk.
