Also, a big thanks goes to Jim for keeping the list up and going through a few
changes, as well as the chat room. I hope the chat room will be utilized more
in the future. I've been thinking of some things to do to use it, but haven't
had the time yet to develop them.

Thanks Jim!

As I had stated, before the era of mailing lists, Real-Eyes founders Paul
Mimms and Clint Campbell started a mailing list, without even the use of any
proprietary mailing list software in 1992.
The list grew locally for 5 years, and then along came YahooGroups, Topica,
and finally, Freelists, where the list is hosted today.

There are currently 105 active members on the list, with people subscribing
and unsubscribing almost daily.
The Freelists archives are searchable, so it is not difficult to find us.

Because 60% of the membership is based in Kansas City and surrounding area,
it is logical to assume that frequent discussions of local events and
activities will take place.

Because there are subscribers from all over the nation, and indeed,
worldwide, even though our local meetings take place in Kansas City and a
good many of them have been posted for all to download, we should strive to
make all members feel welcome.

Topics about technology are wide-ranging, both mainstream and oriented
towards people with visual impairments.
Whether the topic is Itunes, Yahoo tracking you, Windows, Apple, Jaws or
Window-Eyes, accessible credit reports, paratransit concerns or holiday
parties, all are welcome to participate or not participate, as they feel
compeled.

Thanks to everyone for making this a fine fine list.

Wow Texas? Got to love it.
Jim, you had better update our, "about us" link on the web page.
And to think we started out with Jim, Paul, Clint and Andrea. How many
years ago was that?

Regards,
Andrea M. Breier
