First, I want to say that I think that birdcage python is one of the coolest
looking bikes I've seen in a long time. I love the frame, the seat and the
fender looks cool too!

I experimented with rolled aluminum seats as well, but you really have to
match the lumbar curve to the rider, especially if you don't plan to put
foam on it. Even with foam, the lumbar curve in the wrong spot is the
fastest way to make a great seat and bent uncomfortable. My friend Marcel
is right into shaped eats like that, but after three different tries, one
wood, two metal, he still hasn't got it right yet. I was also amazed at the
thickness of Al he used, almost 1/8! That must have been a bit of a beast
to work with. What alloy did you use? 2024? 1100? I used 1.5mm 6061 on
some formed guards that were welded and after welding, they were very stiff
and strong. I might try a seat out of it using 2" (50mm) tall side rails
tacked every couple inches for stiffness.
