This is a survey. I'll summarize the responses later, so please do not post your response to the list to minimize bias among responders. Please reply if you have first hand experience in fine tuning print developers, toners and other variables. I am not interested in paraphrase from books or other forums. 1. Did you vary the amount of *bromide* in a given developer formula, while only bromide concentration was varied? How did the image tone respond? In what developer formula? With which paper? Did you have to adjust exposure, or was it unnecessary? Did you compare how toning responds to such manipulation? Describe the toner and hue shift. 2. Did you vary the *dilution* of a given developer formula, with the only variable being the dilution? How did the image tone respond? In what developer formula? With which paper? Did you have to adjust exposure, or was it unnecessary? Did you compare how toning responds to such manipulation? Describe the toner and hue shift. 3. Did you vary the amount of *sulfite* in a given developer formula, while only sulfite concentration was varied? How did the image tone respond? In what developer formula? With which paper? Did you have to adjust exposure, or was it unnecessary? Did you compare how toning responds to such manipulation? Describe the toner and hue shift. -- Ryuji Suzuki "Keep a good head and always carry a light camera." ============================================================================================================= To unsubscribe from this list, go to www.freelists.org and logon to your account (the same e-mail address and password you set-up when you subscribed,) and unsubscribe from there.
