DEAR RICHARD, Well, the good news about living on an island where they produce around a dozen brands of rum is that we can buy pure ethanol at the grocery store very cheaply. If anyone was crazy enough, they could dilute it, add some juniper berries and a bit of lemon/lime rind, age it for a few weeks and have gin. CHEERS! The problem is that most people can not get the pure stuff at a reasonable a price because it is taxed as liquor. Ethyl rubbing alcohol is denatured with other stuff, frequently Acetone. That will do no harm as a lens cleaner but should not be used as a film cleaner plus the moisture in rubbing alcohol of any sort will streak film. --- Richard Knoppow Los Angeles, CA, USA dickburk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ============================================================================ ================================= To unsubscribe from this list, go to www.freelists.org and logon to your account (the same e-mail address and password you set-up when you subscribed,) and unsubscribe from there. ============================================================================================================= To unsubscribe from this list, go to www.freelists.org and logon to your account (the same e-mail address and password you set-up when you subscribed,) and unsubscribe from there.
