I liked curve shape, color without needing to tone, high Dmax that was usable, and the heavier weight of the paper, nice surface. 2.) One version of New Oriental Seagull. Good curve shape, good color, pleasant surface. 3.) Ilford Galerie. Slightly different color from the others, good curve shape, pleasant surface. Kodak Polycontrast Rapid F (F.B.) was mixed. It had to be toned, and that was tricky because it switched from greenish black to pinkish black too quickly, and it changed color when viewed under different color lights. I had not tried making my own modified D:72 at that time (with benzotriazole instead of KBr). This might have fixed that. I did that with Ilfobrom and it helped a lot. I did not care for * Kodabromide: Dmax was too low (about 1.7); I prefer it to be above 2.0. * Zone VI graded. I could never deal with the curve or how it toned. * Ilfobrom: emulsion would fall off in the wash (not the whole thing, just spots). Curve shape tended to block in the shadows. -- .~.
