Today it must be deliberately ugly, offensive, and poorly crafted to have even a chance of breaking into the rarefied realm of high art. This is what happens when the pretenders grow up and become the arbiters of taste. I wrote to one of the defunct magazines about when we might expect articles on subjects like overcoming the gag reflex, putting the dark cloth over our eyes, kicking the tripod, and shooting/printing out of focus, so that we might all aspire to the quality of work they were featuring. Makes one wonder if there is a group, pure bad snapshots, catering to the needs of these photographers. Be sure to mount the remains of the sandwich with your wastebasket print. Regards...
