Sistan contains Ammonium thiocyanate and a wetting agent. I think the wetting agent is there because sistan is intended to be the last bath the film or paper gets but it may be needed for some other purpose. I don't know what is in Ag-Guard. I believe Ryuji Suzuki said there is a patent covering it which includes formulas but I don't have the patent number. Being patented would prevent you from making it anyway unless Fuji is willing to license you. I don't think AgfaPhoto is going to go out of business anytime soon despite the recent stories. Neither will Fuji but they don't seem interested in marketing their chemistry in North America. --- Richard Knoppow Los Angeles, CA, USA dickburk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ============================================================================================================= To unsubscribe from this list, go to www.freelists.org and logon to your account (the same e-mail address and password you set-up when you subscribed,) and unsubscribe from there.
