what phones do you know of that can use this reader? I'm trying to get over and get a new phone, if I can get one on my free update that can take it I may try for one, even if I am not in time for the beta test, if it's cheaper, then I may be able to afford it when you release it, smile.
looking forward to hearing more on this, inthane. For Blind Programming assistance, Information, Useful Programs, and Links to Jamal Mazrui's Text tutorial packages and Applications, visit me at:

Hi Chris. Unfortunately, it will not be free. However, it will be a cheaper alternative to talx and mobilespeak which run to hundreds of dollars. Usability will be the driving force behind the development of the screen reader, so you need not worry about it, it will be taken care of, first and formost. Cheers! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Hallsworth" <christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <programmingblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, October 06, 2007 3:51 PMSubject: Re: need beta testers for an alternative mobile phone screenReaderSorry, I can't beta test, but will this screen reader be free? What will itallow us to do? Thanks in advance. Within a few days, i would have finished developing an alternative screen reader for mobile phones which would hopefully be a cheaper and more flexible replacement to talx and mobilespeak. I wouldlike to give an opportunity and priority for a few members of the list tobeta test my product. I have not come up with a name for this mobilescreen reader yet, so feel free to come up with one and let me know. Thescreen reader is written with visual c++ and developed on visual studio 2005 using the smart phone device emulator. I will only allow for 5 applicants, and one very important criteria is the ability to positivelycontribute to the development of the software, either in programming terms or in usability. If you have the inclination to help me with this, please write to me privately. Selected beta testers will be given a free copy ofthe full working software. I am sorry that i'll not be able to pay financially, but i hope the gift of the software and the satisfaction of seeing the development through will be enough of a reward. Thanks and cheers! __________ View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind__________ View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind __________ View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind__________View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind
