o yes. it is for symbian and the smart phones based on windows. I am planning to write the program for all symbian and windows based phones, for now, but will explore the possibility of writing java based ones in the future. It will be for both nokia and the windows ce based phones. Minewill be 1 license per user, free minor upgrades and perhaps 20 or 30 dollars for major upgrades should you upgrade from a version you already own. As Isaid, mine will be a matter of a hundred dollars or slightly more rather than being hundreds of dollars. I have a Nokia N73 with Mobilespeak. And BTW -- I just heard that Codefactory (the developers of Mobilespeak) have just relaxed their licensing to allow one license per user, not one license per phone, so you don't have to go through all the hoops every time you get a new phone. Thanks. Sounds like an interesting project. --le ----- Original Message ----- From: "jaffar" <jaffar@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <programmingblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, October 05, 2007 8:20 PM Subject: need beta testers for an alternative mobile phone screenReader Hi all. Within a few days, i would have finished developing an alternative screen reader for mobile phones which would hopefully be a cheaper and more flexible replacement to talx and mobilespeak. I would like to give an opportunity and priority for a few members of the list to beta test my product. I have not come up with a name for this mobile screen reader yet, so feel free to come up with one and let me know. The screen reader is written with visual c++ and developed on visual studio 2005 using the smart phone device emulator. I will only allow for 5 applicants, and one very important criteria is the ability to positively contribute to the development of the software, either in programming terms or in usability. If you have the inclination to help me with this, please write to me privately. Selected beta testers will be given a free copy of the full working software. I am sorry that i'll not be able to pay financially, but i hope the gift of the software and the satisfaction of seeing the development through will be enough of a reward. Thanks and cheers! __________ View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind __________ View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind__________ View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind __________ View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind
