ok, I can understand how that came across that way, and the point of your question, I'm quite guilty of quickly typing out a reply and coming off like an angry Kodiak bear, lol.

take it easy, I'll take it any way I can get it!

I didn't mean it that way at all, I got the impression he has it off most of the time. Certainly while playing a game, all the ones I have and play, I have to shut jaws off, or all but maybe 3 or 4. I wasn't thinking of it that way. I was thinking of it as he shuts it off and seldom uses it at all, that's what didn't make sense to me. Looking at it your way though, I can see that. ----- Original Message ----- From: "inthaneelf" <inthaneelf@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

I think your missing some simple facts,

1. there are times when someone who essentially needs jaws, like me, a total, doesn't want it interfering with something, I listen to a lot of music myself, and can, once I get the play list I wish to listen to, or the folder of music ready will turn jaws off and start the music running, I can by memory start stop skip tracks and adjust the volume without using jaws in either windows media player or in winamp. I also need to kill jaws when playing some of my games, since the jaws keys settings interfere with the keystrokes set up to run the games. and yet I need jaws for most everything else.

and two, why are you coming on like an offended tiger about his statement? seems a bit overboard!

Then, how do you use it? and if you don't need it, why have it?

Hi all,

Sorry for the double posting, but I am going nuts with the jaws volume. I'm wondering if there is a way of somehow being able to turn down the jaws voice without turning down the Windows system volume? That is, when listening to any kind of audio, when one wants to raise the audio as in music or a DVD, one must also deal with the jaws volume shredding one's eardrums because the eloquence voice is so damn loud! Is there a programming fix or possibly even a scripting fix?

Matthew
