Ok, when I then started the executable in the bin folder, I again got an
unreadable/unusable warning dialogue...?
Would like to be able to do something with the 200Mb of bandwidth have used
on downloading this so far...?
TIA

Jacob,
We've had some difficulty with screen readers and the NetBeans
generated installers and have been talking to the NetBeans team about
it. Unfortunately, those tools are brand new in NetBeans 6.9 and there
are some bugs being worked out, related to accessibility and other
issues.
Feel free to file a ticket with the NetBeans team for specific issues.
They will almost certainly fix them, as I know those installers are
being improved in the 6.9.1 release. You can file tickets on that
here:
http://netbeans.org/community/issues.html
In the meantime, you can also download a zip file (with no installer),
that we've put up specifically because of the installer issues.
You can get that here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/sodbeans/files/Sodbeans/Sodbeans_1_0/sodbeans.zip/download
Your mileage may vary, but hopefully that works for you. After
unzipping, there's an executable in the \bin folder to start sodbeans.
Stefik
