I'm not, I'm actually in Missouri. Seems there are no dealers in this state
though.

I spoke to vince earlier today, and he was a wonderful help. I was right, most
of it was at least semi simple, but it is definitely not in the least
intuitive. One of those things where if you know what you're doing it's not
hard, but if you don't you could do what I did and spend hours pulling your
hair out. Even he, a sighted person who works with Jaws every day, was stumped
a few times until we figured out a trick to doing things.

There are still things that don't read nicely, but if I'm careful I can work
around those, at least for now. We'll see how things go as the class progresses.

Thanks too for those who offered to help privately. I was actually in the
process of writing out an email when I got the call this morning. No promises I
won't take advantage of the offers later on, smiles.

Thanks. I did look at the help system, that's actually the first place I
went. It says that 2007 is supported, and even has several keystrokes listed.
Unfortunately there seems to be no keystroke for the one thing I'm needing at
this very moment, that is, the supposedly simple job of adding a data field to
a table. Their website had nothing at all about Access that I could find.

I do have a call in to one of their dealers in Oklahoma, to see if maybe I
could get some help there, and someone did email me that I plan to contact
privately since I know this is somewhat off topic for this list.

Most likely, I'm just missing something simple, though I can't for the life
of me figure out what it might be.

I think people at the Massachusetts Commission also use Access. I don't
use it myself but would recommend that you look at the JAWS help system under
"Popular Applications" to see which versions they officially support. I'd also
look for scripts written by other people to which FS may provide a pointer on
their web site. Finally, I would start using google to find out if you can
locate some person or group that may have posted scripts to their web site
without FS learning about them - this last one is not too likely to pay off as
they do a pretty good job of getting links to third party developers both
professional and volunteer.

I don't know about 2007 but the Iowa department for the blind has some
programs on using Access with earlier versions of Jaws. The key strokes seem
to carry over to later versions. You can Google them, I can't remember the
name of the program right now. They have tutorials on lots of MS programs and
using Jaws.

If anyone has familiarity with using Access 2007 with Jaws, and would be
willing to give me some assistance privately, it would mean more than I could
say. I've got a project for my database management class due, but I can't seem
to get even simple tasks like adding a field to a table to work. I'm hardly
computer illiterate, but this is beyond frustrating and it's only the beginning
of the class. Seems FS has no new tutorials, and nothing at all on Access.
