Michael, It's been a version or two since I have evaluated Lightroom for more complex image editing... How does Lightroom handle alpha channels, clipping layers, layer masking, adjustment layers, blending modes, and layer blending? ...Perfect Layers? Does Perfect Layers allow you to apply LR develop room "effects" to each individual layer? Is there a way now in LR or via plugin to do a more traditional Photoshop style Dodge/Burn tool, Healing Brush or Clone Stamp that doesn't limit me to a static feathered circle? And if not, how does spot removal work for hairs or other more complex artifacts? And say you need to "spot removal" 50 dust specs on an old photo... doesn't that get a bit laborious in Lightroom? Can I now work in Lab color space in LR? And most importantly, file sharing for collaboration, how do I send what I have done with all this in Lightroom to a colleague elsewhere without losing any of my modifications so that they can make further modifications to the source (without flattening the image). Does DNG export preserve your Lightroom settings? I guess the plugins could be problematic. Thanks, James ps, the poll doesn't take into account that Lightroom in useless for still and motion design/compositing/graphics/text work, though some of us like it as an organizational and tracking tool. Most people I work with in the design realm for video or web delivery still use Adobe Bridge to navigate through collections of still images, probably because it is always a mixture of traditional photos and graphical images, collections are commonly on shared servers, and folder hierarchy (whether shared or not) is constantly changing.
