A photographer with strong opinions, imagine that ;) I do agree. Photoshop is becoming more aimed at 3-D modeling and scientific users. The cost of keeping up with each mandated upgrade soon will be borne only by institutions. Until recently there were a few vital functions that Lightroom couldn't do that meant that PS was still needed. That's changed big time with the introduction of cheaper 3rd party LR plugins like Perfect Layers. Plus tools like Photomatix will now automate HDR creation from LR and import the new image back in. Lightroom 3.X has been on sale for about $150 lately, so maybe version 4 is coming. Version 3.5 is excellent.
