The pay and free version of ZoneAlarm aren't really that different. The
actual firewall is the same thing, just the pay version packs in a few extra
features that most people don't use anyways.

If you want just two antispyware apps, I would use Ad-Aware and Spybot, as
these are the most common (although not necessarily the better ones). For
myself, I like these two best. Ad-Aware is RE-active, meaning it cleans up
the mess after you have it. But, it includes ADWATCH which is PRO-active,
meaning it supposed to work to prevent infections in the first place. Same
thing with Spybot. On face value, its RE-active, but its got a background
app (I think called Tea Timer, or something like that) that runs in the
background to prevent infections.

I now have Ad-aware, spybot, A2square, spywareblaster and my ISPspyware
scanner--bit of overkill I think...and none of the manual run pick up the
same thing. I would like two but picking WHICH to is mind boggling...it's

almost enough to drive a person to drunk or foreget the whole thang!!!!!!!

I too have Norton..just recently updated to a new version..AND Zonealarm but

mine is the free version.

Which is the reason you don't only use one antispyware app.
:o)

Please be aware that the adware/spyware made by Claria (GATOR to those that
have been around a while) and now owned by Microsoft has been downgraded by
MS AntiSpyware. It used to be found and suggested to be deleted. Now it is

simply ignored.

And now, its time for that ever popular TV show... Who Do you Trust?

Google on Claria for about a million hits... the first few should have
stories on this.
