I'm not understanding you. If I read your question correctly, you're asking if 2 pc's can access the net this way? They can using the ICS or AnalogX Proxy program. ---Troth -----Original Message----- From: pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of ted Sent: Wednesday, February 16, 2005 6:05 AM To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: router/hub question ? both pc's at the same time ? cheers ted ___________________________________________________________________________ Date: Wed, 16 Feb 2005 01:50:53 -0500 From: ~OoO~ <sirtroth@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: router/hub question Yes and no. You can't use the router the typical way, because the cable would normally go from the wall to the modem, and then from the modem to the router. Then, you would send a cable from the router to the computer (and another cable from the router to the computer if you have more than one computer). But, you can share the connection using Internet Connection Sharing or even a proxy program. One I recommend is called Proxy by AnalogX... and free: http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/proxy.htm If you have a problem with the link, use: http://tinyurl.com/mce ---Troth -----Original Message----- From: pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Theki56@xxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, February 16, 2005 1:42 AM To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- router/hub question I would like to ask a question ,so as to answer the one that put to me;namely, can a hub or router be used to share a dialup connection-one of my coworkers is considering buying another computer and doesn't want to invest in broadband just yet.
