While you were talking to the professor, did you ask him about the effective work slowdown when using ICS on a dialup connection? If not, go back and ask.

No matter how you slice it, it will still be a slow process to share a dial-up internet connection. If 2 users each have a 5 minute download, it will take a minimum of 10 minutes, and maybe longer) for them to complete. If you are both trying to open the website it will take at least twice as long for both of you to open it than it would take for just one user to open it.

While it will still take the same TOTAL time to do two identical activities, it will take the whole total time before either one of you complete a task. That means that a 5 minute download will become at least a 10 minute download and maybe longer.

Hi Troth
I regret the lengthy time for this reply, I wanted to check with some
computer professors at school to verify the accuracy of what I am going to
say because I am in disagreement with what you had to say about ICS slowing
down the modems speed.
