Do you have a DEGAUSS button on the monitor? If so, give that a try.

Are you getting the flicker even BEFORE getting into Windows?

Do you have another computer you can connect the monitor to... to rule out
either the video card or the monitor?

Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Samsung Monitor flickering

Hello all,
I turned on my computer after returning from a two day trip and the
monitor is flickering. I don't know what the problem is. I had powered down
the
computer, but not the monitor, before we left. I turned on the computer, and
I
get an intermittent screen flash. I'm running XP Home, and the monitor is a
Samsung SyncMaster 205BW.
I've rebooted, and tried to boot in safe mode. There is no separate
video card. It's two years old.
The symptoms are; monitor power button is showing a short flash, then a

long one, followed by the screen flash. The sequence repeats itself again
and
again.
I'm using an old monitor now, hoping there is an easier answer than
buying a new monitor tomorrow.
Thanks,

HB
