Well thank you K.C. but I may now even be on line soon as earthlink can't
supply me with basic DSL but can with high speed which I can't get here so I
have canceled the DSL. I will try yahoo or roadrunner.
Sincerely Yours.

I suspect the idea of playing around with new components may not be to
your liking. If you want to save money, go to the Dell "re-furbished"
site and look at some of the offerings there. They can represent some
really nice bargains. Don't pick the leading edge machines, pick ones
that are one generation older and you can get some sweet deals. As an
example, if the leading edge is a 3.2 Pentium 4, try looking at a 2.8
or 3.0. The columns on the site can be used to sort the offerings,
just click on the head of the attribute you want.....chip, disk, etc.

     | While I wouldn't take a program recommendation as gospel, I've
     | looked at your specs and here's some comments:
     |
     | Windows 98 No details available <=3D3D=3D3D Very outdated, about
     | to be unsupported (was stopped once and extended temporarily)
     |
     | 400 megahertz Intel Pentium II <=3D3D=3D3D Very slow processor, OK
     | for e-mail but not much else now.
     |
     | 27.01 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
     | 22.89 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space <=3D3D=3D3D This says HD size
     | is NOT an issue for you.
     |
     | 416 Megabytes Installed Memory
     | 256 Megabyte Module Size - 1 Installed
     | 128 Megabyte Module Size - 1 Installed
     | 32 Megabyte Module Size - 1 Installed  <=3D3D=3D3D Odd assortment of
     | memory, probably added some after the fact. The amount is
     | certainly adequate for running e-mail.
     |
     | The bottom line is this. If you can afford a better system, I
     | guess I'd recommend doing it. You'd end up with a much better
     | operating system, and a better, faster, computer. While you may
     | not do much but e-mail now, perhaps you would do more if you had
     | the capability. What about digital photography, MP3 music, DVD,
     | etc.? On the other hand, if money is tight (as it is for
     | many), that machine, if well maintained, will operate just fine
     | as a e-mail computer.
     |
     | Hope that helps.
