Hi Chris,

Sorry not to get back to you sooner, everyday for the past couple of weeks
we loose our cable TV and modem due to bad weather! No TV and no
Internet...nasty!! It was out for a long long time yesterday. I had to go
and clean house, hahah.

Well...I'm able to connect to the Internet with the new PC. I have been on
the "chat with tech support" at Dell about my monitor, I had trouble with
the colors. Finally got that cleared up.

Now networked? I'm not sure. I read the help file for transferring files
from XP. Used what it called Network Wizard. You set up a floppy with XP
machine. Then you take it to the 98business machine and run the "FASTWiz"
from the a drive. It did copy some files from My Documents, but only the My
Pictures folder which was nearly bare. It apparently did this through the
Computer Network Cable. The one that goes from the Router to XP. It was
fast! But I cannot find any more transferred files on the XP machine except
the My Pictures folder.

Then I thought I could use that folder to transfer another one, so I pasted
the new folder into My Pictures after removing the previous pictures. But it
didn't work.

So today I tried again, it went through a huge amount of files and
settings...I really don't want the settings part. But, anyway, I could see
on the 98business machine where it appeared to be transferring all of my
newsgroups dbx and so forth...but then after about 45 minutes of transfer
there was an error message that listed all the files that could not be
transferred. They appear to be all cursors and sounds from the media folder
and that's OK I really don't care about putting those on the new PC any way.

But where in the heck did all those files it said it was transferring go? I
have looked and looked and can't find anything different. No new dbx folders
in OE etc.

I have most of the files I want to transfer on a different partition on the
98business machine, but I can't see how to direct the NetWizard from the XP
machine to those folders.

You can color me confused as all get out now. I am trying to see the
98business machine from XP, but I guess I don't know where to look. So far I
haven't found it.

And now I have read so much and clicked on things on XP to the point that I
have no idea what I have done. Some of the things I have tried to do tell me
that since I'm not logged in as administrator I don't have permission to do
whatever. Then off to find out how to become administrator. Nothing worked
on that so far. It seems like I'm trying to nail Jell-O on the wall.
Everything I do seems to require finding out more things.

I will read again the links you sent me and see what further I can discover.

Thanks for trying to help.

Sammi
